Today's been a good day. I went to Knoxville farmers co-op to get 2 cattle panels .... they were out of them so I drove down Maynardville Highway to Tractor Supply.....they had them and cut them so that I could get them in the van. At home I cut and trimmed so I could put around each raised bed to keep out my doggies.
This morning I up-potted all of the bell peppers and cut peppers and jalapenos back. I had read that is the thing to do. I cut back the top of the Supersweet 100s tomatoes and the top of the Meriglobe tomato.
I planted two of the Supersweet 100s in bed #4, also I have sugar snap peas In this bed ... the other end of bed #4 is my compost. I have three giant garlic volunteers that came up in my compost!
Bed #8 has 9 red romaine lettuce, and 9 curly kale. I also planted four rows of Blue Lake bush beans and five sunflower seeds at the end of the bed. I sprinkled some old lettuce seed beside the rows of beans.
I had about a half a bag of 10 10 10 fertilizer and I mixed it with sand and rock dust then removed the fruit tree trunk protector pads so I could sprinkle it around each tree. I had enough left over to feed the dogwood trees. I also fed the azalea bushes. I deadheaded my poor little hydrangeas much too early and the frost freeze burnt the new growth. I doubt that I will have blooms this year. live and learn.
In the sunroom greenhouse I still have cucumbers (about to get their 2nd set of leaves), lavender, basil, and Bells of Ireland.
